Rune schween

“ Life is too short to not pay attention to comfort”.

About Rune

Rune, very tellingly, says about his vocation that ‘Design is not my job it is my passion!’ He has worked with outdoor furniture design most of his professional life; having been employed by some of the biggest companies in the industry as well as doing freelance work and consultancy.

Rune’s background as a fully educated furniture designer includes 5 years of education; primarily as a combination of education as a cabinet designer and production engineer. This has given him a strong background in understanding and developing products that fit the industry on various parameters – from aesthetics to comfort and structural integrity.

What makes Rune unique as a designer is that he is fuelled not only by the desire to deliver great product design and optimisations, but also his knowledge of the commercial side. As Rune puts it: ‘For me a good design is only a good design once it is sold to the end consumer with great happiness and in big volumes’.

He names his biggest inspiration for design and business as Mr. Lars Larsen (founder of the Lars Larsen Group).

Alex christensen

“ A comfortable space is something everyone needs and deserves.”

About Alex

Alex, a Danish national with an international background, holds a Product Design degree from Nottingham Trent University in the U.K. and has now been part of the LifestyleGarden® design team for a couple of years. With time spent in multiple countries and across several continents, Alex’s approach to the design process is almost fluid and experimental in nature and will often include stylistic elements of different origins.

Through Alex s work, he invites the audience to ‘Play’. He believes that while beautiful and simple aesthetics are key factors in any design, an essential element – ‘Play’ – opens up emotion allowing for the development of a personal connection. This culminates in a strong relationship to our design pieces; no matter how big or small they may be. Pair this with carefully considered functionality and focus on customer fit and you have Alex´s design ethos.

With sustainability being close to our hearts and a key driver in everything we do, Alex is a perfect fit as a designer, describing his motivation as follows:- The driving force behind my design has always been focused on our fragile cohabitation with Earth and compassion for those who live on it. We must stay committed and not be defeated by the challenges of providing sustainable and ethical products and solutions to the market. We have a duty to support the ethical consumer of the future with transparency in practice and cyclical design in mind. At its most essential, we all deserve honest, clean, and affordable designs for the perfect comfortable space.
